Sharing weekly inspiration, one blog post at a timeWith family in town recently, I explored Seattle with fresh eyes. On my visit to the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum at Seattle Center, I was spellbound by this wall of Pendleton blankets.

Moving out of my studio of 13 years is not easy, but has involved some adventures. This week I posted, in the Free section of Craigslist, a fuzzy cell phone picture of a vintage sewing machine that I used for window display. I received dozens of inquiries but I soon realized that Julie the vintage machine expert was the right adopter. She recognized the model from the picture, brought a power cord to test the machine, plugged it in and it worked. She took it to her weekly craft night with science fiction loving friends. Within hours, Julie sent me the following note: "Attached you'll find a pic of her all cleaned up. She runs great! :) She needs a buncha parts, but still, I'm so happy to have her, thank you! I'm naming her Laura Bee. :)" Here's the same Singer machine in a store window display commemorating our eight year anniversary party. I'm so glad to know that I found her a worthy new home (via Craigslist)!
